Choosing a right career at the right time is very important. Career guidance and advice act as stepping stones for success, but many of the students in our country and community still lack awareness about this. Visiting or speaking to a career counsellor seems like a waste of time and money. However for success, it is vital that you get the right advice from the right, knowledgeable person.
The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) with the intention of providing students of grade 10 and above an opportunity to discuss queries related to careers, courses and opportunities in the job market with career guidance experts, had arranged a series of career guidance lectures in two phases.
*Phase I: This phase consisted of 11- lectures from 11 renowned speakers from the 22 nd of June to the 3rd of July 2020.The opening session was on the topic “How to choose a right career”. This lecture was by Mr Asif M Khatri who highlighted the importance and need for planning and choosing a right career based on one’s interest, skill and qualification. This lecture was followed by many lectures on topics like career in Science, Engineering, commerce, Arts, Civil services, law and judiciary, career in IIT, IIM and other INI’s. These lectures benefitted around 1200 students across India and allowed them to align their thoughts in choosing their career.
Ample time was given to the attendees to clarify their doubts with the speaker before the end of the session.
Seeing the success rate of Phase 1 of Career Guidance Seminar, AMP continued its endeavour to reach out to more number of students by planning for Phase 2 of these seminars.
The phase 2 consisted of target topics like Career in Defence forces, Social Sciences, Travel Tourism and Hospitality Management, Finance, home science, agriculture and Food Science, career in pharmacy, and paramedical Sciences, architecture, robotics, mass media and journalism seminar which were attended by around 1000+ students.
The seminars were conducted very systematically and with immense professionalism. All praise to the entire team of AMP who were involved in scheduling and conducting the webinars and gearing them towards success.
The speakers of the various topics were awarded with a certificate of appreciation by the AMP to honour them for their efforts.
