AMP Unity Job Fair at Mumbai 2024

634 Candidates were selected & shortlisted at the Unity Job Fair jointly organised by AMP and other multi-faith Organisations in Mumbai!

As part of Independence Day celebrations and with the noble intention to unite all Communities, and provide Livelihoods to all, Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) along with Pir Makhdum Saheb Charitable Trust (Mahim Dargah) and Bombay Catholic Sabha (BCS), organised a Free Mega Job Fair on Saturday, 17th August, 2024, at Sacred Heart Boys School, Santacruz, Mumbai.

 

There was a big response to the Job Fair as 1,768 candidates were interviewed. 88 Corporates and Recruiters from across various industries participated in this Job Fair with more than 15,000+ vacancies. At the end of the day 80 Candidates were selected and 554 were shortlisted for the next round of interviews.

 

The Job Fair was inaugurated by Fr. Felix D’souza, Noted Educationist & Parish Priest, Sacred Heart Church, Santacruz, Mumbai. He appreciated the collaboration of various organisations in providing Jobs & Livelihoods and said this was the way forward for tackling the unemployment issue in our Country.

 

Mr. Suhail Khandwani, Trustee – Mahim & Haji Ali Dargah Committee, said “We try and reach out to the Youth through Jobs, Education, Sports, Medical Care etc. Further, we partner with AMP for providing Jobs for all Communities & Castes because of their expertise. Tolerance & Acceptance are the principles with which we work and which is needed strongly in our Country today.”

 

Mr. Dolphy D’Souza, President – Bombay Catholic Sabha, said “The Government is working for Employment cause relentlessly. However, our Youth will become self-sufficient only if we, the responsible individuals and the NGOs with strong social consciousness and responsibilities, come together to support every initiative taken in this regard. The Unity Job Fair is a step in that direction and unites all for a Noble Cause.”

 

Mr. Aamir Edresy, President – AMP said, “Association of Muslim Professionals believes that transformation can be brought in the society through Educational and Economic Empowerment. We try to empower the youth through Jobs, Skill Training & Livelihoods Assistance, so they can contribute significantly to the Nation’s growth story. The Unity job fair promotes harmony among Communities and is open to candidates from all Castes and Religion.”

 

Mr. Shahid Haider, Head of Projects, AMP said “Providing job opportunities to our Youth has been one of our primary objectives. We have done more than 95 Job Fairs all over India and have helped in providing jobs to more than 50,000 Candidates. The Unity Job Fair is a small effort for bringing together all Communities and promote Brotherhood & Peace.”

 

The Job Fair was conducted to help unemployed youths to get placed in reputed mainstream Corporates and to provide opportunities to the needy without any discrimination of caste, community and creed.

 

Many dignitaries from Business, Social & Political fields including various multi-faith organisations, also visited the Job Fair and encouraged the Candidates as well as the Corporates & Recruiters. Asif Zakaria, Former Corporator, BMC, Albert D’souza, Chairman – Model Bank & Christian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Vincent D’silva, Chairman – Dimensions Global Christian Chambers of Commerce, Vivek Mendonsa,  Marketing Director – Lawrence & Mayo and Founder Dimensions, Dr. Amar Prabhu, Principal – Don Bosco Industrial Technical Institute, Member-Skill India, Raja Rehbar Khan, Former Corporator – BMC, Milind Ukey, Trustee - Sanghakaya Foundation, Dr. Amit Nabar, Director - Emergency Dept. & Community Medicine, S. L. Raheja Hospital, Fr. Allwyn Misquita, Don Bosco, Navi Mumbai and Rekha Shahani, Public Concern for Governance Trust,  were amongst the many Guests who graced the occasion.

 

The Job Fair was organised with the support of other multi-faith Social Organisations like Sanghakaya Foundation, Haji Ali Dargah Trust and World Interfaith Harmony Unity Mission (WIHUM).
