AMP concludes a week long Education Day National Campaign

Mumbai, Maharashtra, 25th November 2017

Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) concluded its week-long Nation-wide Campaign from Saturday, 11th November to 18th November 2017 throughout the country. The National campaign titled, Kamyabi Ka Wahid Raasta… Taleem was organized all over India, which focussed on creating awareness of the impact of Education and Learning. The objective of celebrating National Education Day was to strengthen our educational institutions and to raise the quality of education to greater heights. It was also an occasion to remember Maulana Azad's contribution in laying the foundations of the education system in independent India as well as to evaluate our current performance in this field. We covered over 30 cities all over the country.

These lecture series were conducted in over 100 schools across different cities in India. People involved in taking these lectures were  AMPs own team consisting of  volunteers and speakers spread across the country as wide as from Mumbai to Manipur and across the North and South of the Country benefiting more than 20,000 students in 30 cities.

There were six lectures arranged on 11th November, in Mumbai to mark the significance of Education Day. These lectures were arranged at different locations in Mumbai right from Byculla in South Mumbai to Malad in Western Surburbs. The lectures were arranged in Hashemiah High School in Byculla, Shoeb Urdu High School in Mumbra, Iqra English High School & Elia Sarwat Urdu High School in Malad and St. Harris High School in Mira Road. We also had 3 lectures conducted in various locations namely Manipur, Bhopal and Barwani.

We had one special lecture arranged in St. Harris School in Mira Road located in Mumbai. A very senior speaker of AMP Mr. Ijlal Khan, who has been into the teaching field for more than 20 years, conducted the lecture. More than 350 students attended the lecture. It was a very informative and interactive session conducted by the speaker. The students participated with full enthusiasm and found the lecture to be very beneficial for them. This was AMP’s way of saluting the contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad towards humanity. We at AMP try to nurture Young Minds who could be the Future Leaders of our country. We make them believe that we should dream big in order to climb the ladder of success. It is with hard work and dedication that Students can achieve and chase their dreams into reality.

The lecture started with the introduction of AMP after which the speaker highlighted the importance of education through the eyes of Islam. As mentioned in the Quran, the first word introduced to humankind was Iqra, which means to ‘Read’. The Quran has made it obligatory for every person whether male or female to educate themselves. The speaker highlighted the importance of Education and Learning by getting the students well versed with the various institutions contributing to a brighter career. These included IIT, IIM and AIIMS. The lecture also covered well-known leaders and Muslim professionals who have left their footprints in the field of Education.

Those present were very delighted by the lecture and it had a deep impact on them giving impetus on various career opportunities and highlight the importance of equal Education for all.  Speaking about the reaction of the attendees and the lectures impact Mr. Khan said, “There was a tremendous response from these fresh minds who seemed quite enthused, this appears to be the dawn of a new revolution on our way towards being a developed country. AMP will herald this revolution and be the catalyst of change.”

Mr. Aamir Edresy President, AMP said, “Probably AMP is the only organization which can work at this level in such a well-coordinated manner and the beauty lies in the spirit of team work and ideals of volunteerism strongly imbibed into each of our members across the country, which allows us to give shape to such events and activities. We may be scattered by geography but united by our ideals and spirit.”

Note: Seeing the overwhelming response we have extended the campaign till 25th November 2017 for those who want to conduct lectures in their city.

Regards,
Team AMP
