AMP Distributed Higher Education Scholarships to Deserving & Needy Students

Association of Muslim Professionals on Saturday 30^th September 2017 distributed Higher Education Scholarships to 31 deserving and needy students from Mumbai and the adjoining Suburbs.

These were students who came from less-privileged families, but due to their sheer hard work and dedication scored good marks in their H.S.C. and were now pursuing Architecture, Engineering and Medicine.

Altogether 22 students of Engineering, 5 Students of Medicine, 2 Students of I.T and 2 Students of Architecture were given away Scholarships ranging from Rs. 10,000/- upto Rs. 50,000/- depending on their merit and economic background.

Mr. Aamir Edresy, President, AMP addressed the students and stressed on them to continue doing well in their academics and at the same time after getting into their respective Professional fields to give back to the Society and the Community. He mentioned that AMP provided then an excellent platform for that and they were always welcome to get associated with AMP either through Skill Development Lectures (SDLs) we conduct in Schools or to volunteer in AMP’s Job Drives and Job Fairs.

Mr. Razak Shaikh, Head, AMP Employment Assistance Cell mentioned that AMP wanted to disseminate all information pertaining to Higher Education, Professional Entrance Exams, Scholarships, Employment Opportunities in the Govt. and Private sector etc. In short the AMP Resource Centre (ARC) aims to be a one stop source for all Educational and Employment needs of the Community and the Society at large. He urged the students to take advantage of the assistance being given by many such institutions and in turn help others too to achieve their dreams and rise up the ladder.

The Scholarship Cheques were handed over to the students by some very senior Professionals and Entrepreneurs of the Community like Mr. Aziz Khatri, Country Head of Sewells Group, Mr. Shafi Akhtar, Managing Partner of JAV Trading, Mr. Mohammed Suhail Sheikh, Director, Gold Rush Capital Services and others.
