Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP)’s soon to be 10th Anniversary was marked by organizing a Sr. Professionals and a Chapter meeting of AMP UP Chapter on Sat, 11th Nov, 2017 at Nehru Yuva Kendra, Hossainabad, Lucknow. The program was attended by guests of honour Mr. Aamir Edresy, President - Association of Muslim Professionals and Dr. Ruksana Lari, Member – All India Muslim Personal Law Board and former Principal of Karamat Hussain Muslim Girls Degree College, Lucknow.

The Program started with Tilawat-e-Quran, followed up by a presentation on past/current activities and future planning of the UP Chapter by Mr. Syed Mohammad Ali, Head – AMP UP Chapter. These activities included Skill Development Lectures, Career Counselling Programs, AMP Zakat Fund raising, AMP Scholarship Program, Organization of Job Drives & Job Fairs and Khidmat-e-masjid program.

Thereafter, AMP’s ‘National Award for Excellence in Education’ was awarded to those academicians who have made significant contributions in the field of Education. 9 of these prestigious Awards were awarded to academicians in the UP Chapter zone. This was followed by speech of Mr. Aamir Edresy, President - Association of Muslim Professionals, who gave a brief and insightful introduction of AMP as an organization since its inception till date.

Subsequently, following speakers were then invited on stage to address the gathering:

1.       Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar – Director, Planning & Research faculty & Dean, Engineering Faculty of Integral University, Lucknow

2.       Prof. M. Z. Khan – Professor in Civil Engineering Department, Institute of Engineering, Lucknow

3.       Mr. Aftab Ahmad Khan – Alumni of Aligarh Muslim University, retired as Inspector General, CRPF

4.       Dr. Usman Kausar – Department of Medicine, KGMU, Lucknow

Following that, AMP Higher Education Scholarships were presented to 4 deserving students.

Lastly, the guest of honour Dr. Rukhsana Lari was invited on stage and she shared a lot of enlightening views, which would be beneficial for the team in building much more professional and productive team.

The program ended with lunch buffet at the same venue.
