Mentorship Program
In light of the growing number ofcollege and university students within our community, there is a strong andurgent need of appropriate role models and guidance to these students inmatters of academics, career and personality development. This will enhancestudent satisfaction and student retention in the colleges and universities. Mentoringinvolves the support and guidance of students from experiencedstudents and professionals, often from the same discipline, field,or from some other area of common interest.
The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP)announces the launch of their “AMP Mentorship Program”. Following is a brief description ofthe Mentorship Program. The details of the program will be shared with you
Aims and Objectives:
The principal aim of the AMPMentorship Program is to assist students in their academic and relatedprofessional domains. The objectives of the program are to help students
To develop and enhance a sense of direction.
To effectively bring about the integration of the college, faculty and campus as a whole.
To articulate a sense of purpose about being in college/ professional course and about pursuing their particularprogram of study, and
To acquire the necessary skills tobecome independent and life-long learners and teachers as well.
The Program willbe a big step towards making the students active and confident professionalswho can make an impact and in turn make a contribution to the community,nation, and the world. As a pilot project, we are aiming to mentor students inprofessional courses like BBA, MBA, Engineering, and other post-graduatecourses.
Highlights of Mentor-ship Program:
- The principal aim of the AMP Mentorship Program is to assist students in their academic and related professional domains.
- Mentoring involves the support and guidance of students from experienced students and professionals, often from the same discipline, field,or from some other area of common interest.
- One Mentor (depending on his convenience) will be assigned to a group of upto ten mentees.
- Once assigned, the groups may meet at a designated time, at regular intervals on the college campus itself, if the college has such a facility, or at any convenient location.
- The mentors shall provide guidance to their respective groups in areas of academics and career as well assist them in matters concerning personal identity, future goals, etc.
- The Program will be a big step towards making the students active and confident professionals who can make an impact and in turn make a contribution to the community, nation, and the world.
