Muslims form the second largest majority in India with 1 in 7 Indians being Muslims. It is known that Indian Muslims have the lowest monthly per capita expenditures among socio-religious groups. This is indicative of their low standards of living and also of their participation in growth of India. There is no doubt that Equal Participation of Indian Muslims in India’s growth is an endeavor of national importance.

 

AMP has worked on improving Education and Employability of Indian Muslims over a decade and will continue to run its flagship programs in this area. Over the next decade, AMP aims to broaden its focus towards Economic Development of Indian Muslims. Towards this, AMP believes that it is critical that all stakeholders organize under a common Economic Agenda which takes a comprehensive view of Economic Development. 

 

AMP has initiated its efforts on Economic Development over a year ago and has outlined its Purpose, Vision and Mission in this area. AMP is working towards preparing a Roadmap for uplifting a large section (30% as per a Govt. report) of Indian Muslims who are below the Poverty Line (BPL). Further, AMP has assembled a group of 100+ senior Industry Professionals, Business & Social Leaders and  Policy Makers from around the Country, who are working in smaller groups on focused problem areas.

 

To kick-start the program, we are currently enlisting interns as Research Associates to support the program. You would get a chance to contribute to AMP's vision and work with seasoned professionals and mentors from the industry on this noble initiative.
